This little Norwegian boy and girl are enjoying their risengrynsgrot (rice pudding). This is a treat that is traditionally served on Christmas Eve. The porridge is served with a "butter eye" in the middle of the bowl and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. One almond is buried in the grot and tradition says that the person that gets it will have good luck in the coming year or will receive a special present. The little boy is happy to show us he has found the almond! The Norwegian elkhound puppy waits patiently for his chance to lick the bowl
